It has been about six months since I came here. Now, I have just one week left, because I'm going to go back to Japan on March 29th. After I go back to Japan,  I have one week vacation...so I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and eating Japanese food :)  Then I have to study economics, lows, politics, business administration again because I have to go to my university two more years!! And...I want to keep studying English and go to a few country until I graduate my university.

This studying abroad was my most unforgettable experience. I'm happy to study with you, although this semester was too hard and difficult for me!! Thank you so much : )

Academic Word List

Hi, everyone : )

*Holiday*
I went to Japanese restaurant near Tuscany station on the weekend with my friends. The chef of the restaurant is a Japanese, so the taste is really good : ) At that time, I ordered ''sashimi'' and ''tempura''. It was so delicious. After I ate that, the waiter gave us green tea ice cream. I had a good time : ) I want to go there again before I go back to Japan.

Paraphrasing,Summarizing,and Quoting

Hi :) Today's post is about Paraphrasing, Summarizing, and Quoting. Paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting are effective when we use someone's ideas in academic writing. We must not plagiarize when we use them.

Paraphrasing means that to say the idea in other words which is easy for readers to understand. We can use it to use synonym, to change word form, and to change word order.

Summarizing means that to sum up the main idea briefly to use our own words. We can use it to put in main idea and to include details pertinently.

Quoting means that to introduce someone's idea to support my idea. We can use it when we cite someone's idea  by using quotation marks.

These are links about paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting. :)

Truth and Lies

Hi. Today I would like to write about my experience of  a lie. Have you ever been told a lie?? I think everyone answers ''yes''.

About two years ago, a certain boy told me that I love you. I was at a loss whether to associate with him or not, so I consulted with my friend about him. My friend said that he is a really really good boy, and it is good to associate with him because he is a kind boy and he is hard to deal with girls. It means that it is unnecessary to be a jealous boyfriend. That's why I decided to associate with him.

It had been ten months, I broke up with him, so I told my friend the fact. My friend said that he is not a good boy to associate with because he is a good boy but he likes girls. I didn't know that so I was surprised at the fact. My friend is my previous boy friend's friend, so he told a lie. I think that it is habitual in Japan. My friend is important for me and it isn't a malicious deception so I didn't think that he is a liar and his action is betrayal, although my friend concealed the fact. Also I didn't confront him because it might be my delusion.

Actually I had enjoyed staying with him, so I remember this fact as one of my pleasant experiences of my life.

Unit1

Dear Mika

Hi. I'm writing a letter to you because you are one of my very important friends. It has been about fifteen years since you and I became friends. I met you for the first time when we were just five years and kindergarteners. Actually, we were close friends. However we had to go to different elementary school. Also you took an entrance examination to a private junior and senior high schools, but I didn't take it and went to a pubic school. Therefore we hadn't seen each other twelve years although we had exchanged letters.

Twelve years have passed, I could meet you again because we found each other on Twitter. At that time we were eighteen years old. I remembered feeling so happy.

Now I'm very happy to contact with you, be good friends again, and consult with you about everything. In addition to this, you tell me about good things and bad things. It helps me to change my actions, so I'm grateful to you.

Lastly, you are my very important friend and I'm really looking forward to seeing you after I go back to Japan!!

See you :)

Self Introduction and My song

Self  Introduction

Hi :) I'm Arisa. I'm 20years old. In Japan, I study politics, economics, management, and law. I want to improve my English, so I came to Calgary. It has been about four months since I came here. In addition to this, I'm going to go back to Japan at the end of March.

My Song

I chose Bad Day because the song makes cheer me up.  I think that it is an encouraging  song for me. I listen to  the song when there is something not to do well.  For example, last November, when I walked with my friends on a snowy day, I slipped on the snow three times for about five minutes. At the time I thought that I'm out of luck. Then I was listening to the song while I was taking a bus to go home. After that I felt better, so the song is important for me. Also I recommend you to listen to Bad Day!!
